Lebanon’s Military Tribunal, headed by General Mounir Shehade, sentenced on Friday the former mayor of Arsal town, Ali Hujeiri, to five years in prison with hard labor and, in accordance with the verdict, stripped him of his civil rights.
Hujeiri was charged with inciting gunmen to take revenge on the Lebanese army units that had killed the terrorist Khaled Humayyed in 2013.
Based on Hujeiri’s incitement, the terrorists killed and injured a number of the army officers and soldiers, including Major Pierre Bechaalani and First Adjutant Khaled Zahraman, in Arsal.
