Conflicting reports emerged on Saturday from Syria’s Aleppo following fierce clashes in Sheikh Maqsoud Neighborhood between forces affiliated with the new authorities and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Syrian Army’s Operations Command announced the completion of a full security sweep of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood.
It urged civilians in the neighborhood “to remain in their homes and not go outside, due to SDF and PKK terrorist elements hiding among them,” the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

It also reported that Aleppo’s Internal Security Commander, Mohammad Abdul Ghani, conducted a tour of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood and met with a number of local residents.
Meanwhile, Kurdish sources said clashes were going on in Sheikh Maqsoud, noting that the new authorities’ forces have not managed to control the neighborhood.
