A “de-confliction cell,” between the parties and the Lebanese authorities has also been set up to prevent fighting from erupting again, they said.
Later on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed the de-confliction cell, saying the statement by Pakistan and Qatar “is of particular importance, and one of its key points is the formation of a committee to oversee the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU).”
“A mechanism will be established to monitor the implementation of the first item of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding #Lebanon, and this is important,” the statement read.
It added that technical committees will be formed to implement the provisions of the MoU in accordance with Article 12, and that the technical delegations will continue their work.
The two sides also exchanged critical messages regarding the issuance of licenses for Iranian oil sales and the release of Iran’s frozen assets, according to the statement.
