Less than 48 hours after a US-Iran ceasefire meant to calm all fronts, including Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire roared back across the country’s south, killing and wounding civilians and flattening homes in a sweeping escalation amid failed Israeli attempts to control Ali Al-Taher hill in the Nabatieh region.
From midnight into the early morning, warplanes and drones unleashed intense raids backed by heavy artillery shelling, hitting a wide arc of towns across the Nabatieh region, Al-Manar correspondents reported, noting that the attacks caused in casualties among civilians.
Lebanese Health Ministry said that 19 people were martyred and 33 others were wounded in preliminary toll of Israeli strikes on Nabatieh region in southern Lebanon.
Airstrikes struck the city of Nabatieh and the surrounding towns including Kfar Tebnit, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, Qsaybeh, Kfa Sir, Harouf, Al-Sharqiyeh, Jebshit, Kfar Joz, Kfar Dajjal, Adshit, Doweir, Habboush and Toul, according to our correspondents.

Israeli drones targeted the towns of Toul and Jebshit and Toul, as well as a motorcycle in the town of Doweir, amid artillery shelling targeting the towns of Jebshit, Harouf, Qsaybeh, Kfar Joz, Kfar Remman and Jabal Al-Rafi’, Al-Manar correspondent reported.

On the ground, a new attempted Israeli advance toward the Ali Al-Taher under heavy artillery cover and phosphorus rounds was repelled, with resistance fighters firing dozens of rockets at advancing troops and targeting military gatherings and vehicles near Kfar Tebnit, reporting direct hits.
