Tasnim: Bloomberg’s Alleged Iran-US Understanding Text ‘Inaccurate’

An informed source close to Iran’s negotiating team has swiftly dismissed the text of the memorandum of understanding published by Bloomberg as inaccurate and incomplete, just two days before its scheduled signing.

The source told Iran’s Tasnim news agency on Wednesday that the document circulated by Bloomberg referred to as the “Islamabad Understanding” contains numerous deficiencies and does not accurately reflect the full 14-clause agreement reached between Tehran and Washington.

“As previously announced, the memorandum consists of 14 clauses, and the subjects covered by those 14 clauses have been discussed repeatedly in the media. However, the details presented by Bloomberg regarding each clause are, in many significant respects, incomplete,” the source stated.

Highlighting specific inaccuracies, the source pointed out that the first clause and the clause concerning the Strait of Hormuz, as presented by the American outlet, are “clearly inaccurate” and omit several important key terms that were integral to the negotiations.

The source further reiterated that, based on the mutual agreement between the parties, the authentic text of the MoU will not be made public until it is formally signed on Friday, June 19 at which point the full and accurate details will be officially released.
