Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the newly drafted Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States represents a significant step toward ending the war, reaffirming that the Iranian nation “does not accept humiliation.”

In a post on X, the Iranian president said that following extensive discussions, nearly all members of parliament endorsed the text of the MoU, describing the process as a means of testing Washington’s commitment to respecting the rights of the Iranian nation in practice.

He credited Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution with a decisive role in shaping the agreement, saying his guidance ensured the inclusion of provisions safeguarding Iran’s national interests.

Pezeshkian described the MoU as the product of months of dialogue and sustained follow-up, adding that—if fully implemented—it could become a “source of national pride.”

He also thanked Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and other officials involved in the negotiations.

Pezeshkian said the agreement marks “an important step toward stopping the war and beginning negotiations,” while emphasizing that a comprehensive settlement has yet to take shape.

He stressed, meanwhile, that Iran remains prepared for all scenarios, stressing that the government’s priority, “with or without an agreement,” is serving the Iranian people.

The Iranian president recalled martyred Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, saying that “the Iranian nation has learned from its martyred Imam not to submit to humiliation.”
