Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced on Wednesday that he will visit Lebanon on Thursday, leading an economic delegation as part of efforts to expand bilateral cooperation.
In a statement addressing broader diplomatic relations, Araqchi asserted that current circumstances are not conducive to negotiations with the United States, citing Washington’s policies. “Iran has never abandoned the negotiating table and is always ready to negotiate,” he said, while accusing the US of failing to adopt a balanced approach.
Regarding recent domestic unrest, Araqchi emphasized that Iran’s internal affairs are not subject to external interference. He stated that the government is fulfilling its responsibilities amid protests over living conditions, which he said some actors have sought to exploit to incite “chaos and riots.”
On European relations, the Foreign Minister noted that while there is no specific negotiation program currently in place, dialogue with European countries continues.
The visit to Lebanon signals Iran’s ongoing efforts to strengthen regional economic partnerships amid heightened international tensions.
