Hezbollah issued on Wednesday a statement to refute the false claims of the Israeli enemy concerning Tebnin Governmental Hospital.
The statement affirmed that the Zionist enemy allegations are aimed at justifying the attacks on hospitals, medical staff, health institutions, and paramedics, calling on the international community, the United Nations, and international, humanitarian, and health organizations to act urgently and assume their responsibilities in the face of these serious Israeli threats to the health sector in Lebanon, and not to allow the enemy to repeat its crimes against hospitals and medical staff as it did in the Gaza Strip.
What follows is the full text of the statement:
The Israeli enemy continues to spread lies and slanders, directing its incitement and misinformation against the Lebanese people under the pretext of concern for them, their security, and their future. The latest of these are the allegations it made about Tebnin Governmental Hospital, in a blatant attempt to provide political and media cover for its repeated attacks on hospitals, medical staff, health institutions, and paramedics—acts that constitute a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws and norms and rise to the level of war crimes.
These fabricated allegations constitute a public threat to Lebanese hospitals and medical institutions, especially after the recent attack that targeted the vicinity of Jabal Amel Hospital, which took it out of service and endangered the lives of many patients and medical staff. This confirms the enemy’s true intentions to expand the scope of its targeting of civilian, health, and vital infrastructure, to destroy everything that has a pulse, and to strike the foundations of resilience, with the aim of spreading fear and pressuring our steadfast people and deterring them from holding onto their land.
We call on the international community, the United Nations, and international, humanitarian, and health organizations to act urgently and assume their responsibilities in the face of these serious Israeli threats to the health sector in Lebanon, and not to allow the enemy to repeat its crimes against hospitals and medical staff as it did in the Gaza Strip.
These lies will not change the fact that the Israeli enemy is the aggressor against Lebanon and its people, and the enemy will not succeed in sowing discord and strife among the Lebanese.
The Resistance continues to fulfill its duty to defend its land and its people, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy and making it taste the bitterness of its wrong aggressive choices, and the price for defiling the land of the South and destroying homes and houses.
It is worth noting that Tebnin Governmental Hospital had also issued a statement to refute the claims of the Israeli enemy, affirming that it is providing medical services to the citizens in South Lebanon without any discrimination.
