Israeli Attacks on South Lebanon Leave More Martyrs, Injuries

The Israeli occupation continues its violations and attacks on Lebanese sovereignty. An Israeli drone raid attack on a car on Jouwayya – Wadi Jilo highway left one martyr and one injury.

Al-Manar’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that at dawn, under the cover of surveillance drones and helicopters, an Israeli ground force infiltrated the Bab al-Thaniyah area, west of Khiam. The enemy force rigged a three-story building with explosives and destroyed it.

Our correspondent clarified that the targeted building in Khiam is located approximately 1,200 meters from a recently established Israeli position in Hamams and about 3,500 meters from the nearest border point.

In a related development, as part of the ongoing series of Israeli assaults on Lebanese sovereignty, our correspondent reported that an Israeli helicopter also targeted a bulldozer in the Dabbakeh neighborhood of Mays al-Jabal at dawn today.

Notably, the bulldozer had obtained official permission from the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL to remove rubble from a damaged house.

According to the latest Al-Manar reports, Israeli enemy soldiers, stationed at the newly established occupation site in Aitaroun outskirts (Mount Al-Bat), South Lebanon, fired mortar shells at nearby areas in the border town.

Al-Manar reporter added that Zionist artillery bunkers in Beit Hillel targeted the vicinity of a house in Kfarkila border town, South Lebanon, with 155mm shells.

Israeli artillery also struck Al-Ezzeye Hill in the southern outskirts of Deir Mimas town, South Lebanon, according to our reporter.

Politically, the Lebanese President Joseph Aoun affirmed, in a meeting with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, that the Lebanese army is carrying out its duties in full in the South Litani region in implementation of the government’s decision.

The claims spread by Israel and some local mouthpieces regarding the army’s failure to carry out its assigned tasks are baseless,” Aoun told Lacroix.

It is worth noting that the ceasefire monitor committee held on Wednesday its 16th meeting in Naqoura border UN site, without achieving any result pertaining to stopping the Israeli violations and attacks on Lebanon.
