Exclusive| Al-Manar: US Proposal Calls for Truce in Beirut’s Dahieh and Northern Palestine as Prelude to Comprehensive Ceasefire

Al-Manar TV reported that the US proposal arrived in Lebanon in two versions, containing two different ceasefire approaches.

According to the report, the first proposal, conveyed by the US Secretary of State to Lebanon, stipulated that Hezbollah would announce a halt of its attacks on settlements in northern occupied Palestine, in exchange for ‘Israel’ refraining from bombing Beirut’s southern suburbs. This would serve as a prelude to a gradual de-escalation leading to a comprehensive ceasefire, without specifying any timeframe.

The report added that this proposal was rejected by Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and Hezbollah, who insisted on a comprehensive ceasefire as a prerequisite for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

The report indicated that following decisive Iranian threat to target ‘Israel’ if Beirut’s Dahieh was attacked, the US President Donald Trump quickly presented a new proposal.

According to the report, the new proposal includes a ceasefire in Beirut’s Dahieh and northern occupied Palestine, intended as a prelude to a comprehensive ceasefire within 48 to 72 hours.

Al-Manar report explained that Hezbollah and Amal Movement continued their coordination and adherence to a comprehensive ceasefire, while communication remained ongoing through presidential channels, with the leadership of Hezbollah, and via channels with Iran, in addition to Ain al-Tineh, with the aim of formulating a position that would guarantee the Zionist entity’s commitment to a comprehensive ceasefire, paving the way for its withdrawal and the return of the displaced.

The report was concluded by stating that anything published contrary to the above-mentioned facts is false.
