Two Palestinians were martyred and several others wounded on Tuesday by Israeli shelling and gunfire in the Gaza Strip, as Israeli occupation forces continued to breach the ceasefire agreement, according to local and medical sources.
In the latest incident, a Palestinian was martyred and two others wounded in an Israeli drone strike targeting a security post in the town of al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip. Local sources identified the victim as Khamis Juwaifel, confirming that the strike hit the al-Farouq neighborhood around midnight. The wounded were transported to a nearby hospital.
Earlier Tuesday, a separate fatality was reported northeast of Khan Younis. Local sources named the victim as Ali Yasser al-Adini, who was killed by Israeli fire near al-Abara Street. Witnesses said Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a group of Palestinians collecting firewood along Salah al-Din Street, north of Khan Younis. Two young men accompanying al-Adini were reportedly arrested by Israeli troops at the scene.
In addition to the casualties, Israeli occupation forces carried out extensive demolition operations east of Khan Younis and east of Gaza City. Gunfire and artillery shelling were also reported in several areas along the eastern parts of the Strip.

According to Palestinian observers, Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire through aerial and artillery bombardment of areas sheltering displaced persons, as well as demolition operations within the so-called “yellow line.” Restrictions on the movement of goods, humanitarian aid, and travel remain in place.
Since the ceasefire began on January 19 (not October 10, as previously misstated in some reports), data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health indicates that 935 people have been martyred, with an additional 2,860 injuries and 781 bodies recovered from the rubble.
The overall death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has now reached approximately 72,797 martyrs and 172,967 injuries, underscoring the heavy human cost of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.
