Iran’s Qalibaf to Lebanon’s Berri: If Israeli Attacks Don’t Stop, We Will Not Only Suspend Negotiations But Also Rejoin Battle

Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf with Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri during a visit to Beirut (October 12, 2024).

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and head of the Iranian negotiating delegation, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, affirmed during a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri that Hezbollah and the Amal Movement are today defending their land and the Islamic nation, stressing that the relationship between Iran and Lebanon is a deeply rooted and inseparable one, and that “our blood and your blood are one.”

Qalibaf stated that efforts over the past two days had focused on stopping the “Israeli” attacks, warning that if the aggression continues, Iran will not merely halt the negotiation process but will stand in confrontation with the Zionist entity.

He added that Iran is determined to consolidate the ceasefire throughout Lebanon, particularly in the south.

He further indicated that any potential agreement to end the war between Iran and the United States would include a halt to attacks on the various fronts, especially in Lebanon.

For his part, Speaker Berri expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran aimed at stopping the “Israeli” attacks, affirming that Lebanon will not forget the positive positions Iran has taken during this sensitive period.
