Iranian Sources to Al-Manar TV: Deal with US Won’t Be Signed If Halt of Israeli War on Lebanon is Excluded

Al-Manar correspondent in Tehran Hasan Haidar (L) updating the news anchor Moussa Al-Sayyed (R) on the details of the talks as reported by the Iranian sources

Iranian Negotiation Team sources updated Al-Manar TV Channel on the latest developments of the talks with Washington, affirming that the Lebanese cause occupied a central part of the diplomatic endeavor to reach a deal that ends the war and sustains the Iranian conditions.

The following points reflect the main features of the ongoing talks between Iran and the United States as reported by the Iranian sources:

1. Washington tried repeatedly to evade the condition of maintaining ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, and cessation of combat operations against Iran and its allies by the United States of America and its allies, but Iran insisted on including Lebanon and guaranteeing a halt to combat operations against it, threatening not to sign otherwise, which forced Washington to accept.

2. Strait of Hormuz: Navigation in the Strait of Hormuz will be gradually resumed after the US naval blockade is lifted and its seriousness is verified. Iran will then gradually reopen navigation according to Iranian arrangements.

3. Release of the agreed amount of frozen Iranian funds, estimated at $12 billion.

This is an Iranian demand that it will not back down from.

4. Lifting sanctions on Iranian oil sales and maintaining freedom of operation for ships are included.

5. Postponing the nuclear file to a second phase and tying negotiations on it to the full lifting of US sanctions on Iran, in addition to discussing the fate of enriched uranium in Iran.

This will be within a negotiating framework after confirming the matter of ending the war.
