Three Victories: How Iran, Lebanon, and Now Palestine Will Liberate al-Quds, Qa’ani Says

Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani, commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, declared that the Palestinian resistance will follow the path of Iran and Lebanon to liberate al-Quds (Jerusalem), citing historic defeats inflicted on the Israeli regime.

Speaking on the anniversary of Iran’s 1982 liberation of Khorramshahr, Qa’ani drew a direct line between three turning points: “The glorious epic of May 25, 2000, when Hezbollah successfully expelled the Israeli regime from southern Lebanon,” and the anticipated liberation of al-Quds by Palestinian fighters.

“During that withdrawal, the Israeli army fled while their radios were still on, and all their equipment was left behind in the trenches,” the general said, describing Hezbollah’s victory that ended 22 years of Israeli occupation.

He concluded: “The resistance of dear Palestine today and heroic Lebanon will likewise lead to the liberation of al-Quds.”

May 24 marks the anniversary of Khorramshahr’s liberation in 1982 – a major victory in Operation Beit al-Moqaddas, achieved after 578 days of occupation by Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist army.

In Lebanon, Israeli enemy forces withdrew on May 25, 2000, suffering a humiliating defeat after two decades on southern Lebanese soil. Qa’ani insisted that the same fate awaits Israeli forces in occupied Jerusalem.
