The Israeli enemy confirmed on Sunday that one soldier was killed and another seriously wounded after an explosive-laden drone launched by Hezbollah detonated near an Israeli occupation force in southern Lebanon.

The drone struck at approximately 3:30 p.m., targeting Israeli troops operating near the town of Dibil, on the outskirts of Bint Jbeil roughly five kilometers from the border with occupied Palestine. Israeli media reported that the drone exploded directly above a Namera armored personnel carrier, killing Sergeant Nahorai Laizer by shrapnel and severely injuring another fighter.

Earlier Israeli media reports had claimed two soldiers were killed in the attack and that families had been notified, but the army’s official statement recorded a single fatality.

The confirmation comes days after the Israeli military acknowledged the death of a major – a company commander in the elite Maglan unit during fighting in southern Lebanon.

‘Most Difficult Day Since the Ceasefire’

Israeli media outlets reported that Hezbollah launched more than 30 explosive drones toward Israeli forces and northern settlements on what they described as “the most difficult day since the ceasefire.”

Channel 12 quoted soldiers on the ground saying their presence in southern Lebanon has become like being “ducks in a shooting range” – a reflection of growing vulnerability to drone attacks and rising casualties.

70% of Operations Halted

According to Israel’s public broadcaster Kan, multiple planned offensive operations and missions have been canceled or postponed due to the drone threat. In recent military assessments, data showed that Hezbollah’s explosive drones are hindering approximately 70% of the Israeli army’s freedom of action in southern Lebanon.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon says it continues its military operations against the Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories in response to ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement signed on April 17.
