Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance Bloc MP Hasan Ezzeddine said that Israeli bombardment and attacks on towns and villages in southern Lebanon have continued without interruption.

He cited the recent Israeli massacre in the southern Lebanese town of Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr, which claimed live of 13 civilians, including women, children, and entire families, in addition to several wounded.

“The Israeli enemy’s impunity and disregard for international humanitarian law requires a stronger national response and a reassessment of current political approaches.”

The Hezbollah lawmaker called for a return to “national options” that reflect the will of the Lebanese people, in a clear reference to the approach of direct negotiations with the Israeli enemy, adopted by the authorities in Lebanon.

The ongoing direct negotiation tracks do not serve Lebanon’s national interest, he affirmed, urging instead a shift back to indirect negotiations and linking any political process to full compliance with a ceasefire.

MP Ezzeddine warned that continuing on the current path “risks placing Lebanon in a serious political predicament that benefits only the Israeli occupation.”

He called for adherence to national principles and rejection of any process that imposes external conditions on the country.
