Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Ayatollah Sayyed Mujtaba Khamenei issued a message on Wednesday marking the second martyrdom anniversary of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, describing the occasion as a reminder of a long line of officials who “served the country with sincerity and were martyred in the line of duty.”

In the message, the Leader referenced a series of prominent political and ideological figures in the Islamic Republic, such Motahari, Beheshti, Rajai, Bahonar, Raisi, Ale-Hashem, Amir-Abdollahian, Larijani, and hundreds of other outstanding figures, portraying them as part of a “school of governance” shaped by the legacy of Imam Khomeini. He said these figures “left their mark in the history of public service through sacrifice and dedication.”

A central focus of the message was the late President Raisi, whom Sayyed Khamenei described as embodying responsibility, attention to youth issues, commitment to justice, and active diplomacy. He also highlighted his close public engagement, saying such traits helped strengthen ties between officials and society and contributed to widespread public participation in his funeral procession.

“These attributes were a source of encouragement for Iran’s allies, including the fighters in the powerful Resistance Front, as well as many of the well-wishers of the Islamic system,” the Leader wrote in the message.

Sayyed Khamenei further noted that the delegation accompanying Raisi in May 2024 included Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other senior officials, portraying their deaths as part of a broader legacy of “service-oriented governance.”

The message also framed the current period as one of heightened confrontation and responsibility for Iranian officials, stressing the importance of national unity and continued public engagement in addressing economic and social challenges. The Leader called for greater efforts in improving livelihoods and strengthening cooperation between the state and society.

“We’re now witnessing the Iranian nation’s historic, unprecedented epic of resistance against two global, terrorist armies. This reality places a heavier burden of responsibility on the officials of the Islamic Republic – from the Leader and the heads of the three branches of government to managers at all levels,” Sayyed Khamenei stated.

Concluding his message, the Leader prayed for the martyrs of service and urged continued dedication from officials across all levels of government, emphasizing reliance on spiritual support and national solidarity in pursuing what he described as Iran’s path of independence and resilience.
