The Israeli occupation forces continued the escalation of air and artillery attacks today on wide areas of southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa Valley, targeting residential towns and civilian areas, while simultaneously issuing direct threats to residents of several villages and towns, demanding their evacuation.
The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that the Israeli airstrike on the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr in the Tyre district resulted in the initial death toll of 10 people, including three children and three women, in addition to three people wounded, including a child.
The center also announced that the cumulative death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon from March 2 to May 19 has risen to 3,042 martyrs and 9,301 wounded.
In the Tyre district, an Israeli drone targeted the residential area east of Tyre city, and enemy warplanes attacked the al-Housh area, as well as the towns of Ma’raka, Qana, al-Majadel, Hanawiya, and Deir Qanoun al-Nahr.
An enemy drone also targeted two motorcycles in the town of Hanawiya, while a drone strike targeted a car inside the town.
In the Nabatieh district, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on the city of Nabatieh, targeting the historic Al-Saraya market. They also struck the towns of Kfour, Deir Zahrani, and Tibnin, while the outskirts of the towns of Zibdin and Harouf were subjected to artillery shelling.
Al-Manar’s correspondent reported that a fourth airstrike targeted the town of Labaya in the Western Bekaa Valley.
In the Marjeyoun region, the town of Debine was subjected to repeated airstrikes and artillery shelling. Israeli warplanes launched two airstrikes on the town, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted its outskirts and the Al-Arid area, amidst thick plumes of smoke.
On the ground, Israeli military vehicles were observed moving from the Al-Samaqa position opposite the town of Kfarshouba towards the Wadad neighborhood on the outskirts of the town.
In another development, an Israeli force advanced into the Al-Dahr area on the outskirts of the town of Rashaya Al-Foukhar, where they abducted a group of agricultural workers, taking three of them to an unknown location after confiscating the cell phones of everyone present.
In the context of the escalation, the Israeli occupation army issued threats to the residents of a number of Lebanese towns and villages, calling for their evacuation. These towns and villages are: Toura, Nabatieh al-Tahta, Haboush, Bazouriyeh, Tayr Debba, Kfar Houna, Ain Qana, Labaya, Jebchit, Shahabiyeh, Burj al-Shamali, and Houmine al-Fouqa.
