Israeli security circles have acknowledged that military measures alone are insufficient to halt the ongoing Hezbollah drone and rocket attacks from southern Lebanon, signaling growing concern over the effectiveness of current strategies.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, a senior security source conceded that even a large-scale ground operation would fail to stop the attacks, stating, “We will not stop the drone and rocket fire even if we occupy all of southern Lebanon.” The remarks underscore mounting challenges faced by the Israeli occupation’s forces along the northern front.
The source further admitted that existing defensive measures, including the deployment of protection systems and fortified networks, have proven inadequate in curbing the expanding drone threat, which continues to expose vulnerabilities in Israeli air defense capabilities.

Highlighting the limits of a purely military approach, the official stressed that altering the situation in southern Lebanon would require a “political breakthrough,” alongside efforts to preserve what he described as the “prestige of deterrence.”
The statements point to an increasing recognition within Israeli security establishments that the confrontation with Hezbollah in Lebanon cannot be decisively resolved through force alone, amid sustained cross-border operations by the Lebanese resistance group and escalating field pressures.
