US President Donald Trump carried an implicit threat on Saturday of a possible renewed aggression on the Strait of Hormuz, as Pakistan has moved to revive negotiations between the two powers.
Trump shared late on Saturday an AI-generated graphic of him and a US Navy admiral in front of stormy waters with several ships, including one flying the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in what was considered a threat of possible renewed aggression in the Strait of Hormuz.
Above the graphic was text reading: “It was calm before the storm.”

Trump’s veiled threat coincided with moves led by Pakistan to bring Tehran and Washington back to the negotiating table.

The visit was aimed at “boosting border trade, strengthening security cooperation, and expanding bilateral ties,” according to Iranian media. However, it’s widely seen as a chance to mull ways to resume dialogue between Washington and Tehran.
