Hezbollah Parliamentary Bloc: Lebanon’s State Bows to Israeli Enemy, While Resistance Steadfastly Confronts Aggression

MP Hasan Ezzeddine, Member of Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc

Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc held its periodic meeting on Thursday, discussing numerous parliamentary affairs and important issues, and calling on the Lebanese government to stop the direct talks with the Israeli enemy.

After the meeting, the bloc issued the following statement:

The authority continues its downward, declining drift in the face of the Israeli enemy’s arrogance and tyranny, and its expansion of the approach of aggression and destruction, backed by American cover and support. Meanwhile, it finds nothing but reliance on weak diplomacy as a means to reclaim rights, expel the occupation, and preserve sovereignty.

In contrast, the Resistance—with its mujahid heroes, its steadfast society, and with the support of many of the nation’s honorable and free people and peoples—shows increasing mobilization and readiness to confront the aggression. This is amid unprecedented steadfastness and resilience that expresses a unifying will among the nation’s sons to reject surrender to the enemy’s encroachment or submission to its humiliating demands.

Meanwhile, the valiant resisters continue to pursue the enemy’s forces, as their drones and aircraft strike down its soldiers and vehicles, becoming a real nightmare that haunts its command and brings them back to a single conclusion drawn from the lessons and precedents of the past: the land of Lebanon will make them taste the bitterness of humiliation, and they will once again drink the cup of disgrace and defeat.

In light of the escalating Zionist aggressive barbarism against civilians, their homes, facilities, and villages, amid complicit silence from international institutions, the Bloc records the following:

  • The crimes against humanity committed by the occupation army in the South, and its targeting of civilians including children and women, and its pursuit of them in villages and streets, will not deter our people from adhering to their legitimate right to defend themselves and their land. They will continue to resist the enemy until it is expelled from our country and it is fully liberated. On the contrary, these crimes are an additional incentive to adhere to the resistance option and to acquire all means of power for liberation and protection. In the face of this global silence and official neglect, our reliance—after God Almighty—is on the arms of our heroic resisters and on the steadfastness of our proud people and their great sacrifices for their sacred cause.
  • The Zionist enemy is escalating its well-documented war crimes without pause, targeting educational institutions, schools, institutes, health facilities, and economic facilities in several southern areas. This is a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention and all its attached protocols, which should be subject to international condemnation of the enemy, as well as international legal prosecution of the enemy’s leaders and their trial before competent international courts for these crimes, in addition to the crimes of genocide against entire families.
  • The direct negotiations conducted by the authority’s team with the Zionist entity coincide with the enemy’s continued perpetration of its crimes and its attempt to expand its occupation of our land in the South. This reaffirms once again that the occupation exploits negotiation sessions and employs them for the benefit of its occupation, while the authority makes concession after concession without even obtaining a ceasefire. This contributes to increasing internal divisions and the rift within society and within the state institutions themselves.
  • We renew our call to the authority to exit this shameful political path and return to the essence of the Constitution and the National Pact to strengthen internal unity and national understandings, and to formulate a national equation that fortifies Lebanon’s position and role in confronting the aggression.
  • The official handling of the displaced persons file is characterized by duality and mismanagement, as well as attempts to differentiate between one affected person and another based on regional and sectarian affiliations.
  • This widens the gap between the authority and a large segment of its people. Therefore, we call on the concerned authorities in the government to stop adopting this policy and the deliberate neglect of this file, which is pressing on citizens, and to remove it from political and sectarian calculations.
