Enemy Strikes: Israeli Airstrikes Kill 8 Lebanese Civilians, Including 2 Children, on Beirut-Sidon Highway

Three Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon’s Beirut-Sidon highway killed eight Lebanese nationals, among them two children, just one day before what is called direct negotiations between Lebanon and ‘Israel’ are set to begin in Washington.

The strikes targeted three vehicles on the international highway Wednesday morning, marking a sharp escalation despite a ceasefire that has nominally held since April 17.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that the first car was hit near Jiyyeh, about 20 kilometers south of Beirut. A second airstrike struck another vehicle shortly afterward in the Barja area, and a third attack hit a car in the Jiyyeh-Saadiyat zone of the Chouf district.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed the death toll from the three attacks: eight people, including two children.

In southern Lebanon, Israeli warplanes also targeted a car at the Maaliya intersection south of Tyre, alongside another strike on the outskirts of Burj al-Shamali town. Additional airstrikes hit the towns of Mansouri, Barashit, Qounine, Shaqra, Halousieh, and Dabaal.

Israeli warnings for southern towns continue

The Israeli enemy army renewed evacuation orders for six towns and villages – Maashouq, Yanouh, Burj al-Shamali, Halousieh, Dabaal, and Abbasieh – claiming Hezbollah was violating the ceasefire. The municipality of Abbasieh urged residents to move to a temporary shelter inside the town “for their own safety.”

Attacks rising since ceasefire

Lebanon reported Tuesday that at least 380 people including 22 children and 39 women have been martyred in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire took effect, not counting the latest deaths from strikes on the Nabatieh region.

In a related incident, Lebanon’s Civil Defense Directorate announced that two of its members from the Nabatieh regional center were martyred by an Israeli airstrike while providing first aid to a wounded person in the city of Nabatieh.

The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon Hezbollah continues to target Israeli occupation forces in border towns with missiles and drones. The Resistance reiterated its refusal to negotiate directly with Enemy and insisted that its weapons are not subject to any negotiations.
