Iran’s Army announced early Monday that its integrated air defense network intercepted and destroyed an intruding enemy reconnaissance drone in the country’s southwest.
The Army’s public relations office confirmed that the drone was detected and downed by air defense units operating under the Joint Air Defense Headquarters.

The downing comes amid weeks of heightened regional tensions following recent US‑Israeli aggression against Iran, which sharply raised fears of a wider conflict. While a Pakistan‑mediated ceasefire had reduced open hostilities, security conditions across the region remain volatile.
