US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s latest response to a US proposal aimed at ending the war in the region, calling Tehran’s position “totally unacceptable” even though the Iranian response reportedly focused on halting hostilities across multiple fronts.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had reviewed Tehran’s response and described it as “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE,” without specifying which points Washington opposed.

Earlier on Monday, Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported that Tehran had delivered its response to the latest US proposal through Pakistani mediation. According to IRNA, the current negotiations are focused on reaching an agreement to end the war across the region.

Iranian state television later reported that Tehran’s response included demands for an end to fighting on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.

Trump consults Netanyahu on developments

Trump confirmed during a brief phone interview with Axios that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Iran’s response and ongoing regional developments.

“It was a very nice call. We have a good relationship,” Trump said, while avoiding details about the next steps Washington may take.
