Israeli Soldiers Feel Helpless Against Hezbollah Drones, Israeli Media Reports

Israeli media outlets are increasingly sounding the alarm over the expanding threat posed by Hezbollah’s drone capabilities, warning that current defenses are struggling to keep pace with the group’s evolving tactics along the northern front.

The Hebrew-language daily Israel Hayom reported that Hezbollah continued launching drones toward Israeli soldiers operating inside Lebanese territory and along the northern occupied Palestinian border, describing a situation in which troops feel “helpless” as small, hard-to-detect drones appear overhead without warning.

According to the report, existing countermeasures deployed by the Israeli military have so far failed to provide an effective response, raising concerns within security circles as Hezbollah maintains operational momentum and continues to inflict significant losses.

“The solutions currently available to the Israeli army are failing to provide an adequate response, at least in theory, while Hezbollah continues to inflict very heavy losses on the military forces,” the Israeli paper said.

In a related development, Israeli Army Radio said the military is investigating what it described as one of the most serious drone strikes of the war—an attack targeting an Iron Dome battery. Military sources confirmed the incident took place, following the release of footage by Hezbollah documenting the strike.

Hezbollah’s Militray Media released on Sunday a drone strike targeting an Israeli Iron Dome battery and its crew at the Jal Al-Alam site on the Lebanese-Palestinian border with two loitering drones.

The growing concern reflected in Israeli media coverage marks a shift in the battlefield dynamic, where low-cost, first-person-view (FPV) drones have emerged as a disruptive force. Their ability to evade traditional air defenses and strike with precision has complicated the Zionist entity’s long-held reliance on aerial superiority and layered missile defense systems.

Analysts note that Hezbollah’s expanding drone arsenal has increasingly become a central component of its strategy, posing a persistent and unpredictable threat to Israeli forces operating near the Lebanese border.
