Four citizens, including children, were martyred and three others wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Zalaya in the Western Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon on Wednesday morning, according to Lebanon’s Al-Manar correspondent.
The attack is part of a fresh wave of Israeli aggression across the country’s south and east. The correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes also targeted the towns of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, and Yahmar al-Shaqif in southern Lebanon.
Separately, Israeli occupation forces struck the area surrounding a public school in the town of Mayfadoun in the south. Earlier in the day, raids were launched on the towns of Deir Kifa and Barashit, while artillery shelling hit the outskirts of Qantara and Adshit al-Qusayr.
The escalating attacks have raised the cumulative death toll from the Israeli aggression against Lebanon to over 2,700 martyrs and more than 8,311 wounded since March 2, 2026.
Meanwhile, the UNHCR announced that Israeli occupation forces have destroyed 428 housing units in southern Lebanon within just the first three days of a fragile ceasefire, causing further waves of displacement among Lebanese families and forcing more residents to flee their homes.
