Hezbollah issued on Thursday a statement to denounce the Israeli enemy’s attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla, saluting the exceptional courage and heroism of the free activists.
What follows is the text of the statement:
Hezbollah condemns the Zionist enemy’s attack on and seizure of the ships of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters, in a blatant violation of international law and an act of piracy added to its dark record full of assaults and violations that have never been alien to an entity founded on criminality and aggression and that places no weight on international laws and norms.
Hezbollah salutes the exceptional courage and heroism of the free activists participating in this flotilla, who defied the unjust blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, affirming that the cause of Palestine remains alive in the conscience of those who believe in the values of justice and humanity—no matter how much the terrorist enemy and the forces of global arrogance attempt to marginalize it, erase it, and extinguish its flame.
Hezbollah affirms that the cause of Palestine will remain humanity’s foremost cause and the shining banner of truth in the face of falsehood. It calls on the international community, in all its institutions, to assume its moral, legal, and historical responsibilities, to break out of the state of impotence and silence, and to act immediately to reject the terrorist blockade on the Gaza Strip and to stop this humanitarian catastrophe, the shame of which will continue to haunt the entire complicit world for generations.
We also call on states that still believe in justice and law to take serious and effective action to restore the standing of international law and enforce respect for it, after certain arrogant powers have turned this world into a jungle unfettered by any humanitarian restraints or standards.
