Third Day of Lebanon Ceasefire: People Inspect Houses Amid Continued Israeli Violations

Lebanese people head for their houses in southern Lebanon to inspect them during the ceasefire (April 18, 2026).

Lebanese residents on Sunday headed for their houses in the targeted areas across southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh), as the Israeli enemy went ahead with its violation of the ceasefire which took effect on Friday.

Al-Manar correspondents across southern Lebanon reported continued Israeli violations, including demolishing of houses across border areas, as well as artillery shelling.

Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of bombing targeting houses in a number of towns including: Khiam, Markaba, Ayta Al-Shaab, Bint Jbeil, Deir Seryan, Hanin, Shamaa, Al-Bayyada, Al-Qantara, Rshaf and Naqoura, according to Al-Manar correspondent.

Our correspondent also reported artillery shelling targeting the towns of Kawnin, Yuhmor Al-Shaqif, Deir Mimas, Beit Yahoun, noting that the shelling on Yuhmor Al-Shaqeef employed phosphorus ammunition.

Israeli warplanes also flew over low altitude across southern Lebanon, especially over the southern city of Nabatieh and nearby towns, according to Al-Manar correspondent.

Meanwhile, residents continued for the third day to cautiously inspect their homes in the affected areas across the south and Beirut’s Dahiyeh, while continuing to return afterward to their places of displacement, our correspondents reported.

Rubble removal operations were also limited to search for martyrs or to open main roads, our correspondents in southern Lebanon and Dahiyeh reported.

For its part, the Lebanese Army announced that specialized army units have fully reopened the Khardali-Nabatieh road and partially reopened the Burj Rahal-Tyre bridge, both key crossings linking the two banks of the Litani River.

“Work is also underway to rehabilitate the Tayr Falsay-Tyre bridge in cooperation with the Litani River National Authority, following damage caused by the Israeli aggression,” the army’ statement read.
