Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed that the Resistance Party will never tolerate the Israeli violations in South Lebanon, adding that the battlefield has proven to have the final say,
The field has proven that it has the final word, and successful policy is that which benefits from its outcomes as a source of strength to compel the Israeli ene”my to submit, in order to secure the rights of Lebanon and its citizens to their land and sovereignty, within a framework of national, cooperative integration that closes the doors to sedition and to foreigners exploiting our country.”
“The temporary ceasefire would not have happened had it not for the jihad of the resistance fighters on the honorable southern frontlines, in a legendary performance that astonished the world, and in a martyrdom-bound steadfastness in the face of the Israeli-American enemy despite a vast imbalance in the scales of military power,” Sheikh Qassem said in a statement.
“The resistance fighters proved that their three-dimensional weapon — faith, will, and capability — is stronger than all the armies of the aggressors, and that in Lebanon there are those who sacrifice what is precious and dear for the sake of liberation, dignity, and independence. Their advance toward the noble goal is not hindered by the presence of defeatists, demoralizers, and backstabbers, because they have first dedicated their lives to God Almighty, and they are surrounded by a proud and sacrificing people who endured killing, destruction, displacement, and the costs of dignity and honor. This people is from all sects, confessions, and regions, and its direction is southern Lebanon — because all of Lebanon is its south; if the South smiles and is liberated, all of Lebanon smiles and is liberated,” Sheikh Qassem said.
“Thanks be to God Almighty first, for He is the Victor and the Helper. And thanks to the heroes of the resistance who broke the Israeli enemy’s advance despite its mobilization of one hundred thousand soldiers on the border, and it was unable to reach the Litani, neither in the first week as it planned, nor in 45 days during the “Eaten Straw” battle. Thanks also go to the giving and sacrifices of the people, the citizens, and the supporters. And thanks thirdly to the Islamic Republic of Iran, leadership and people, which supported and backed us, and linked the ceasefire in the Pakistan agreement to its cessation in Lebanon explicitly in the official announcement. Then it closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to the American breach of the ceasefire in Lebanon, after which came American compliance and the forcing of the Israeli enemy to halt it, which led to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. We followed this course moment by moment.”
Nor do we fail to thank the sponsorship of Pakistan and all those who helped, even by statement, in support of the ceasefire in Lebanon, His Eminence added.
“We read a publication issued by the US State Department titled: ‘Ceasefire Agreement Between Lebanon and Israel — April 2026,’ issued after the ceasefire came into effect. It means nothing on the practical level, but it is an insult to our country and homeland, Lebanon, that America dictates its text and speaks on behalf of the Lebanese Government, where the statement opens with: ‘The Government of Israel and the Government of Lebanon have agreed to the following statement,’ while everyone knows that the Lebanese Government did not convene, nor did it issue approval of this statement.”
“Enough of burdening Lebanon with these insults — in direct negotiation with the Israeli enemy to listen to its dictates, and in the disgraceful scene in Washington where tyranny gathers around the prey, and positions are issued on behalf of Lebanon. This is a slippery slope that has no end. Enough. The people of Lebanon are proud, and will remain so through mutual support and solidarity with the army, the people, the resistance, and the political authority that wants Lebanon’s independence and liberation.”
A ceasefire means a complete halt to all hostile acts, and because we do not trust this enemy, the resistance fighters will remain in the field with their fingers on the trigger, and they will respond to violations of aggression accordingly, Sheikh Qassem maintained.
“There is no ceasefire by the resistance alone; it must be by both sides. We will not accept a repeat of the fifteen months of patience toward Israeli aggression while waiting for diplomacy that achieved nothing.”
Sheikh Qassem identified the next step is the implementation of the five points:
- A permanent cessation of aggression across all of Lebanon — air, land, and sea.
- Withdrawal of the Israeli enemy from the occupied territories to the borders.
- Release of prisoners.
- Return of the people to their villages and towns up to the borders.
- Reconstruction with Arab and international support and national responsibility.
Hezbollah is open to the utmost cooperation with the authority in Lebanon on a new page built on achieving the sovereignty of our homeland, Lebanon, within the framework of unity, preventing sedition, and investing the capabilities of strength within a national security strategy, His Eminence pointed out .
“We build our homeland, Lebanon, together, and we prevent foreigners from guardianship and from achieving the Israeli enemy’s goals through politics, and we translate sovereignty and the protection of citizens into clear procedures and plans.”
‘Israel’, along with the tyrants of the earth, did not defeat us, and will not defeat us — especially after the offerings of the martyrs, foremost among them the Master of the Nation’s Martyrs, Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah (may God be pleased with him), and Sayyed Al-Hashimi, and all the martyrs, and the offerings of the wounded, the prisoners, and the great people. And Lebanon’s head will remain held high by its sacrificing sons, Hezbollah Chief concluded.
