A ceasefire in Lebanon is “just as important” as one in Iran, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri.
In a phone call the Iranian speaker told his Lebanese counterpart that Tehran’s efforts are ongoing to force ‘Israel’ into a comprehensive and permanent truce across all fronts.
Ghalibaf said he is closely monitoring developments in Lebanon, underscoring that securing a ceasefire there remains a top priority. He added that negotiations, including those held in Islamabad and follow-up talks, are focused on compelling the enemy to commit to a lasting ceasefire in all conflict zones.
“A ceasefire in Lebanon is of the same importance to us as a ceasefire in Iran,” Ghalibaf said, framing the issue as part of a broader regional effort to end ongoing hostilities.
For his part, Speaker Berri accused the Israeli enemy of carrying out widespread crimes in Lebanon and attempting to forcibly displace the population, noting that the number of displaced has surpassed 1.2 million.

Speaker Berri also expressed appreciation for Iran’s continued support for Lebanon and the resistance.
