Due to sustained Iranian pressure, a week-long ceasefire was reached across all Lebanese territory, coinciding with the existing truce between Washington and Tehran.
This measure was a precondition set by Iran for entering a new round of negotiations, and Tehran succeeded in imposing it before the negotiation process resumed.
However, this development, important as it is, does not justify complacency regarding Israeli commitments, given Israel’s repeated history of reneging on its obligations and violating agreements, the source added.
