Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance bloc at Lebanese Parliament MP Hussein Jishi lashed out at the United States over its green light to the Israeli enemy to continue its attacks on Lebanon.
In a memorial service on Sunday, MP Jishi said the US pretends to be mediator while unleashing the Israeli enemy to go ahead with its aggression on Lebanon.
Pressures exerted by Washington on the Lebanese State “are aimed at subjugating Lebanon in order to achieve what the Israeli enemy failed to achieve during last year’s war”, the lawmaker said in remarks carried by Hezbollah’s Media Relations Department.
MP Jishi then recalled the resistance epic achievements in face of the Israeli enemy since the 1982 invasion.
“The resistance confronted the Israeli enemy since the 1982 invasion, and was able to nullify the humiliating May 17th Agreement. It was able to expel the occupation and liberate the homeland in 2000.”
“After liberation, the resistance was able to defeat the enemy again in 2006, according to a report by the Israeli Winograd Commission, and to create an equation of deterrence that prevented the enemy from launching any aggression until last year’s war.”
MP Jishi added that the Israeli enemy launched the war in late 2024, taking advantage of its technological superiority, using the sophisticated military capabilities supplied by the US., and mobilizing five military divisions in his battle.
The Hezbollah MP then stressed that talks of futility of resistance “are pure falsehood and deception.”
“Were it not for the resistance, Lebanon would still be languishing under occupation, Zionist settlements would still be entrenched on our land, and there would be no place for some officials to meet and make unjust decisions against the resistance and its people.”
MP Jishi added: “Everyone knows that there is no military parity between the enemy’s capabilities and those of the resistance, but the resistance possesses the decision, will, and determination to confront the enemy and prevent it from achieving its goals by defeating the enemy on points.”
