Israeli Aggression on West Bank Kills Two Palestinians Amid Settler Attacks

Two Palestinians were martyred as the Israeli occupation went ahead with its aggression on the West Bank, and amid settler attacks aimed establishing new colonial outposts and displacing the Palestinians from their land.

WAFA news agency reported that two Palestinians were martyred on Saturday evening by Israeli occupation forces in the Bab Al-Zawiya area in downtown Al-Khalil (Hebron), south of the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources.

Witnesses reported that Israeli occupation forces opened fire and killed 55-year-old Ziad Naim Abu Dawoud, a municipal worker, while he was performing his duties, leaving him to bleed until he died before handing over his body to Palestinian Red Crescent teams.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its crews received the body of Abu Dawoud from Israeli occupation forces and transferred him to Hebron Governmental Hospital. Witnesses also said that another Palestinian was killed at the scene, and that the occupation army seized his body.

Settler Attacks

Later on Sunday, Zionist settlers erected prefabricated mobile houses east of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh district, in what could mark the beginning of a new colonial outpost in the area.

WAFA quoted local sources as saying that settlers installed several the prefabricated houses between the towns of Burqa and Deir Dibwan to expand the so-called Ramat Migron colony built on Palestinian-owned land.

Israeli settlement construction across the West Bank has accelerated in recent years, often beginning with the placement of mobile houses that later expand into permanent structures.

Meanwhile on Sunday morning, an elderly Palestinian woman, her grandson, and two international volunteers were injured morning after being assaulted by Zionist settlers in the village of Al-Mughayyer, east of Ramallah, according to Palestinian sources.

The local sources reported that a group of Israeli settlers attacked the family of Rezq Abu Naeem, beating his wife Fidaa and breaking her arm, as they assaulted their grandson Rezq with blows to the head.

The settlers also beat two international volunteers with sticks and stones while they were present in the village. All four were transferred to hospital, where their conditions were described as moderate to mild, WAFA reported, citing local sources.
