Sayyed Al-Houthi Declares Israeli Presence in Somaliland a Military Target

Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah revolutionary movement Sayyed Abdul Malik Badreddine Al-Houthi has warned that any Israeli presence in Somaliland would be considered a military target, in the latest condemnation of the Zionist move to recognize the breakaway region.

“Any Israeli presence in the Somaliland region is considered a military target for our armed forces, as it constitutes aggression against Somalia and Yemen, and a threat to the security of the region against which decisive measures must be taken,” said Sayyed Al-Houthi, according to a statement published by Yemen’s SABA news agency.

The revolutionary leader stressed that the Israeli enemy’s declaration to recognize Somaliland as a separate entity from Somalia “is an aggressive step within the enemy’s conspiracies.”

“This Zionist hostile move is aimed at establishing a foothold in Somalia in a bid to fragment the region in a broader scheme that is not limited to Somalia, but whose declared goal is to change the Middle East.”

In this context, Sayyed Al-Houthi called on the entire Ummah (nation) to confront such scheme.

“The Israeli enemy’s declaration itself is null and void, having no value in the scales of right or law. It is an act of aggression that comes from an occupying power that itself lacks legitimacy, so how can it claim legitimacy for others?”

He affirmed Yemen’s “unwavering support for the brotherly Somali people against the Israeli enemy,” and pledged to take all possible supportive measures to stand with them.

The Zionist entity announced on Friday that it is officially recognizing Somaliland, a first for the self-proclaimed republic that in 1991 declared it unilaterally separated from Somalia.

Somaliland broke away from Somalia in 1991 following a brutal civil war but has never secured recognition from any United Nations member state.

The UN Security Council will convene an emergency session on Monday to discuss Israeli recognition of the Somaliland region, with members slated to condemn the Zionist entity’s move.
