Iran FM Discusses Regional Developments with Saudi, Emirati Counterparts

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed regional developments with Saudi and Emirati counterparts including the Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon as well as the latest developments in Yemen.

 of Iran and Saudi Arabia emphasized the necessity of halting the Zionist regime aggression, stressing the role of the international community in curbing crimes against regional nations and safeguarding peace and stability.

In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Araqchi and Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments, Tasnim news agency reported.

The two ministers exchanged views on various issues related to Iran-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations.

Referring to the developments in southern Yemen, Araqchi emphasized the need for unity and territorial integrity of that country, as well as the necessity of implementing the roadmap.

The top Iranian diplomat also condemned the Zionist aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon, stressing the responsibility of the international community, particularly the guarantors of the ceasefire, to stop Israel’s aggression and crimes against the Lebanese people.

For his part, the Saudi foreign minister, highlighted the importance of continued consultation and cooperation among regional countries to preserve peace and stability, while emphasizing the necessity of holding the Zionist regime accountable.

Talks with UAE FM

The top Iranian diplomat also held a phone call with UAE’s Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussing bilateral relations and regional developments including Yemen.

According to a Foreign Ministry statement on Monday morning, Araghchi and Al Nahyan expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between the two countries and emphasized pursuing issues of mutual interest.

Referring to the ongoing developments in southern Yemen, the top Iranian diplomat called on all regional countries to make efforts in maintaining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen and fulfilling the legitimate demands of the Yemeni people.

The Emirati foreign minister also emphasized the need to preserve peace and stability in Yemen and the region, and outlined his country’s efforts to reduce tensions in Yemen.

The two diplomats stressed the need for regional countries to step up efforts to consolidate stability in Yemen and safeguard peace in the region.

Earlier on Saturday, Araghchi hold a similar phone call with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani in which the two top officials discussed regional developments, expressing concern over the continued Israeli attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
