Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei issued a message of condolence on the martyrdom of IRGC Navy chief, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, describing him as a brave and devoted commander whose death represents a great honor for Iran and its Armed Forces.
In a statement following the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Tangsiri, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution praised the IRGC Navy commander’s years of struggle and service, emphasizing his role in safeguarding Iran’s maritime borders.
Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei stated in the message that the courageous and brave commander of the IRGC Navy was honored with martyrdom after years of struggle.
The Leader described the martyrdom of the brave son of Tangestan, a soldier of Iran and guardian of Islam during the epic of the “third imposed war,” as a great source of pride for the courageous people of Bushehr, the youth of the southern regions of Iran, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, and the Iranian nation, who have always safeguarded the country’s independence and maritime borders, particularly in the Persian Gulf.
The Leader added that this would strengthen Iran’s path of maritime power and resistance.
Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei extended congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of the valiant commander to his respected family, comrades, and commanders of the IRGC Navy and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, and prayed to Almighty God to elevate the martyr’s rank.
The IRGC on Monday announced the martyrdom of Rear Admiral Tangsiri, saying he succumbed to severe injuries sustained while reinforcing defensive positions following major blows inflicted on enemy targets.
The IRGC said he was injured during operations linked to strengthening Iran’s defensive shield along islands and coastlines targeted by hostile forces, after significant retaliatory strikes that reportedly damaged enemy infrastructure and downed a US aircraft.
