The Israeli occupation army continued its policy of demolition and displacement today, targeting a residential building in occupied East Jerusalem. This morning, Israeli occupation forces stormed the Damascus Gate (Bab al-Amoud) area, deploying bulldozers to demolish the four-story Al-Wa’ad building in the adjacent Wadi Qaddum neighborhood.

Enemy forces assaulted several residents who attempted to prevent the demolition. The Israeli municipality in Jerusalem had initially issued a demolition order for the building in 2022, but widespread efforts by local residents, popular activists, and both local and international organizations succeeded in temporarily freezing the order. The occupation authorities have now reactivated it, in what critics describe as a systematic policy of harassment and forced displacement aimed at Palestinians in Jerusalem.

In a separate escalation, Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank during the early hours of the morning. A convoy of occupation military vehicles raided the eastern sector of the city. Simultaneously, occupation forces also invaded the Askar refugee camp, further heightening tensions in the region.
