Israeli Drone Strike Claims Martyr in Residential Building Near Sidon

A Palestinian man was martyred early Sunday morning in an Israeli drone strike that targeted an apartment in the town of Bqosta, northeast of Sidon, according to Al-Manar correspondent.

The strike occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. when an Israeli drone fired a missile at a residential apartment in the Sharhabil Bin Hasna area of the town. The targeted apartment caught fire, prompting an immediate response from fire trucks and rescue teams who rushed to the scene.

Our correspondent reported that rescue teams recovered the body of one martyr from the apartment. Initial information identified the deceased as Wissam Taha, a Palestinian national from the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp who resided in the Sharhabil area.

During the rescue operation, medical teams treated three children in the building who suffered from panic and shortness of breath as a result of the blast.

Rising death toll

The attack comes as the human toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression continues to mount across Lebanon. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported on Saturday that at least 826 people have been martyred and more than 2,000 injured since March 2, as Israeli bombardment continues to strike multiple regions across the country.

Health authorities confirmed that the casualties include more than 100 children, while hundreds of others have been wounded, placing growing pressure on Lebanon’s already strained healthcare system. Hospitals and emergency teams across the country have been facing mounting challenges in treating the increasing number of wounded as the aggression continues.
