Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Raed Berro warned that offering concessions by the Lebanese State doesn’t serve the national interests.
In a local ceremony in the southern town of Jwayya, MP Berro said that the Israeli enemy approaches the issue of war on Lebanon by discussing the principle of the feasibility and cost of war, and the proportionality between the cost it will pay and the benefit it will achieve.
“This confirms that Hezbollah is not as some try to portray as weak. For if we were so, and if our people don’t not believe in resistance, aren’t steadfast and aren’t determined to fight the enemy, the Israeli enemy would not have discussed the issue of feasibility, cost, and so on in its internal security and military chambers.”

“Given this situation, the State is required today to improve its performance in the face of threats the country faces,” the Hezbollah lawmaker stated.
In this context, MP Berro warned against offering concessions to the enemy.
“Unfortunately, the State offers concession and acts like the defeated party, in contradiction with the principles of negotiations worldwide, which require clear path and known maneuvers.
He warned that presenting concessions based on a defeated heart, lack of self-confidence, and failure to rely on strengths doesn’t serve the national interests.
“We have strengths that we can employ if we unify our discourse and hold dialogue in a correct manner.”
The Hezbollah MP’s remarks come a day after the Mechanism committee which oversees the 2024 ceasefire convened on the southern Lebanese town of Naqoura. The committee includes in addition to Lebanon and the Zionist entity, the US, France and the UN as mediators.
