Iran: Our Delegation Enters Geneva Talks Fully Prepared to Secure National Interests

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson announced that Tehran has put forward proposals centered on safeguarding its nuclear rights and securing sanctions relief during the current round of negotiations.

Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the Iranian delegation will attend the talks fully prepared and committed to pursuing the country’s national interests.

He noted that the discussions are focused on nuclear issues, adding that Iran’s position is clear both regarding the lifting of sanctions and the protection of its nuclear rights and interests.

According to Baghaei, Iran’s proposals in these areas have been conveyed to the Omani side, which is acting as mediator.

The spokesperson reiterated that Tehran remains open to continued dialogue while firmly defending its stated objectives in the negotiations.

He confirmed that the third round of indirect talks began on Wednesday night with a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart.

Baghaei also mentioned that the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency may join the discussions.
