Iran’s foreign minister met his Omani counterpart as part of renewed diplomatic efforts over nuclear negotiations with Washington.
The third round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States commenced on Wednesday evening with a meeting between Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Badr Albusaidi.
Discussions focused on Iran’s positions regarding nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions, ahead of continued indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Araghchi, who traveled to Geneva for the latest round, outlined Iran’s perspectives on nuclear matters and sanctions relief during his talks with the top Omani diplomat.
He conveyed Tehran’s core considerations and stressed that the success of the negotiations hinges on the seriousness of the other party and the avoidance of contradictory statements or behavior.
The Iranian foreign minister also expressed appreciation for Oman’s role in facilitating diplomatic engagement and supporting the ongoing process.
Albusaidi commended Iran’s consistent pursuit of a diplomatic approach to the nuclear issue and reaffirmed Oman’s readiness to continue its good offices and assist in advancing the talks.
He expressed hope that, with mutual seriousness and commitment from all sides, the negotiations would yield results acceptable to both parties.
