Member of Loyalty to Resistance Parliamentary bloc Dr. Hasan Fadlallah emphasized that Hezbollah wants parliamentary elections to be held as they are constitutionally scheduled without extension or delay. This is in the interest of all Lebanese, as they’ll express their aspirations through elections, he added.
“However, there’s an attempt to impose the parliament mandate extension on Lebanon through foreign interventions, driven by calculations unrelated to Lebanon’s national interests. These calculations include believing the social milieu of the resistance will weaken further next year, reconstruction will be delayed, and there’s a possibility of US war on Iran, making circumstances more favorable for them to elect a parliament reflecting the new balance of power post-Israeli war, even at the expense of constitutional deadlines and government credibility.”
MP Fadlallah’s remarks came during a ceremony in Beirut’s Dahieh honoring martyr Ali Mohammad Bzi (Sajid) in Beirut, attended by fellow MPs, Hezbollah officials, and families of martyrs.
MP Fadlallah said those who claim defending sovereignty are the most eager to give in to external pressure for parliamentary extension, adding that they insist elections should be held on time without delay, reflecting voters’ will.
Hezbollah lawmaker affirmed continued consultation with Amal Movement for Lebanon’s interest, and that no one can break the resistance supporters’ will, citing martyrs’ sacrifices and people’s patience as proof.
MP Fadlallah underlined facing the ongoing Israeli violations and attacks, underscoring the importance of patience in this stage “during which the government is supposed to assume responsibility in this regard”.
