Iran Slams Israeli Aggression on Lebanon, Demands Global Intervention

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s recent airstrikes on Lebanon, which targeted the Bekaa region and the Palestinian refugee camp of Ein el-Hilweh in Sidon.

In a statement on Saturday, Esmaeil Baghaei denounced the attacks carried out yesterday and last night by the Israeli regime against Lebanese territory, including the Bekaa area and the Palestinian-populated camp of Ein el-Hilweh in Sidon. The strikes resulted in the martyrdom and injury of over 40 Lebanese and Palestinian civilians.

Referring to the continued and flagrant violations of Lebanon’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity—as well as the breach of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement—the Iranian spokesperson stressed that the guarantors of the truce, namely the United States and France, bear direct responsibility for the crimes committed by the Zionist regime.

Baghaei further emphasized the urgent need for the United Nations and the Security Council to fulfill their legal responsibilities and take immediate action to halt the Israeli regime’s ongoing military aggression.
