Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun strongly condemned on Saturday Israeli airstrikes targeting the Sidon area and towns in the Bekaa, describing the attacks as hostile act aimed at undermining efforts of stability.

“The continuation of these attacks constitutes a deliberate hostile act aimed at undermining the diplomatic efforts undertaken by Lebanon with friendly countries, foremost among them the United States, to consolidate stability and halt Israeli hostilities against Lebanon,” a statement released by Lebanese Presidency read.

“These raids represent a new violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a clear breach of international commitments. They also reflect a disregard for the will of the international community, particularly United Nations resolutions calling for full adherence to Resolution 1701 and its complete implementation,” President Aoun added, according to the statement.

He renewed call on countries sponsoring stability in the region to “assume their responsibilities to immediately stop the attacks and exert pressure toward respecting international resolutions in a manner that preserves Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and spares the region further escalation and tension.”

The Israeli enemy committed a massacre on Friday night. It carried out at Least three strikes on Bekaa, with one of the strikes targeting a residential building in Riyaq. At least 10 people were martyred and more than 30 others were wounded, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.

Earlier on Friday, the Israeli enemy attacked Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp, Lebanon’s largest Palestinian refugee camp, which is located on the outskirts of the southern city of Sidon. The attack on Hittin neighborhood of the refugee camp, claimed the lives of two people.
