Hezbollah Parliamentary Bloc Visits Speaker Berri, MP Raad Says to Run Jointly in Elections

Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc visited Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri on Friday, with head of the bloc MP Mohammad Raad declaring that the resistance group is to run jointly with Amal Movement in the upcoming elections nationwide.

The delegation included MPs Hasan Fadlallah, Ali Fayyad, Hussein Al-Hajj Hasan, Raed Berro, Amin Sherri and Ali Ammar, Al-Manar correspondent reported, adding that local and regional developments were discussed during the visit.

Upon the visit, MP Raad told reporters that the meeting was a chance to tackle latest developments locally and regionally.

“Our position is fully aligned with that of Speaker Berri, as usual. We have agreed that the national duo should be a platform that lays the foundation for confronting all challenges and threats,” the lawmaker stated, referring to the alliance of Hezbollah and Amal Movement.

In this context, MP Raad pointed to Israeli attacks in violation of Lebanon sovereignty.

“We are committed to safeguarding the country’s stability and preserving normal life, just as we remain resolute in confronting the Zionist occupation and its backers until it withdraws and our people return to their towns and villages.”

On the parliamentary elections, MP Raad said: “Our stance is fully aligned with that of Speaker Berri. We will contest this election on all fronts, whatever course it takes.”
