Head of Hezbollah’s Executive Council, Sheikh Ali Dammoush, emphasized that what really overburdens Lebanon is the continuation of the Israeli aggression as the state abandons its people in terms of protection and care. He stressed that resistance has always been a factor of strength and resilience for Lebanon, highlighting that the resistance’s equations have kept the country safe and deterred the Zionist entity for 30 years.
During a Friday sermon at the Sayyeda Zaynab Complex in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Sheikh Dammoush said, “After the recent aggressive war on our country, we agreed with the state on a ceasefire agreement, and the state’s institutions would take responsibility within a new national equation.” However, he added, “Unfortunately, the state has not met the Lebanese people’s expectations and has failed to fulfill its duties and responsibilities due to shortcomings and negligence.”
Sheikh Dammoush criticized the state’s absence from its duties and its reliance on abandoning responsibilities, leading to a widening gap between the state and its people. He affirmed that the people will not surrender and will continue to hold onto their rights.
Sheikh Dammoush stated that the US-Zionist targeting of Iran is not due to the regime’s policies but because of its Islamic and revolutionary nature. He emphasized that Iran is targeted for being the only state opposing the Zionist entity’s existence and for its oil, gas, and mineral resources.
His eminence also highlighted that the confrontation with the US is with a model that refuses to see independent states with actual sovereignty, seeking to make America the sole ruler of the world and ‘Israel’ the dominant force in the region.
Sheikh Daamoush stressed that Iran will not fall or submit, and the people will continue to support their leadership. Iran has been facing challenges and sanctions to suppress it, but it emerges stronger each time.
“If war is imposed on Iran, it will fight to the end, not just defending itself but also as the last stronghold of Islam.”
