Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has denounced the crimes of the Israeli regime in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank.
He strongly condemned the recent decision by the Zionist regime’s political and security cabinet to seize more Palestinian land in the West Bank, aiming to expand illegal settlements, stabilize the occupation, and tighten security control over the area—pursued in tandem with the ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
Referring to the continued killing and massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as gross violations of human and humanitarian rights—including the ongoing illegal detention of Palestinians and severe torture of those in custody—the spokesman considered these criminal acts by the Zionist regime consistent with its policy of genocide against Palestinians and destruction of Palestinian land.
Baghaei underscored the shared responsibility of all governments to prevent the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and the increasing usurpation of their land by the Israeli regime.
He described the impunity enjoyed by the Zionist regime and the continued all-out support from the United States and certain European countries, particularly Germany and Britain, as the main drivers of the regime’s ongoing genocide against innocent Palestinians.
Strongly criticizing the inaction of the United Nations and other relevant international institutions toward the Zionist regime’s colonial and expansionist policies, Baghaei reaffirmed the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people—above all, the right to self-determination, freedom from occupation, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
