Iran’s Pezeshkian: World Must See Iranian Nation Gathering to Defend Their Country

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addresses crowds in Tehran’s Azadi Square (February 11, 2026).

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the world must witness the massive presence of the Iranian people in the streets in defense of their country and their Islamic Revolution.

Speaking on Wednesday at a large gathering of marchers in Tehran’s Azadi Square marking the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian said, “The world today must see that the people of Iran have come to the scene in their millions across the country to safeguard their Revolution, obey the leadership of the system, and defend their values and their proud land.”

Pezeshkian said the 1979 popular uprising was aimed at establishing justice, safeguarding Iran’s independence, and demonstrating that Iranians and Muslims can build their country through their own strength, determination, knowledge and art, and bring about dignity and freedom.

He said that from the outset of the Revolution, enemies attempted to destroy it by sowing division and plotting coups.

“The US and Europe,” he added, “made every effort to bring the Revolution to its knees, imposed an eight-year war on Iran and backed Saddam in an attempt to partition and occupy the country, but failed in the face of the bravery and sacrifice of Iranian youth.”

The Iranian president paid tribute to the martyrs, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Major General Hossein Salami and Martyr Qassem Soleimani, saying they neither sought wealth nor power but gave their lives selflessly for the nation and the Revolution.

Criticizing the remnants of the Pahlavi dynasty who had plundered national resources in the past yet now claim they can govern the country, Pezeshkian said the martyrs possessed nothing but their lives, which they sacrificed for the homeland’s honor.

He also warned that the enemy is using its media and aggressive power to distort the minds of the country’s youth.

Apologizing to the people for shortcomings and deficiencies, he said his administration is working with determination to resolve problems and expressed confidence that, with divine assistance and the wise guidance of the Leader of the Revolution, it will succeed.

Pezeshkian said measures taken will ensure that next summer the country will not face last year’s problems, stressing that unity and national cohesion, through the guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, are essential to counter threats, conspiracies, and attempts to mislead the youth.

The president stressed that Iran has sincerely pursued the path of diplomacy, reiterating that Tehran has “stated time and again that we are not seeking nuclear weapons and are ready for any verification process.”

He said the US and Europe, through their positions and rhetoric, have erected a “high wall of mistrust” that prevents talks from yielding results.
