Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks on Lebanon amid official government silence. This morning, Israeli warplanes dropped four stun grenades on the town of Aita al-Shaab, in a clear violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
Al-Manar’s correspondent reported that the outskirts of the town of Al-Dhahira also came under bursts of machine-gun fire from enemy border positions.
This aggression follows the martyrdom of three citizens in a similar Israeli attack on the town of Yanouh just one day prior, and occurs amid ongoing official government silence and a lack of decisive action to halt these repeated violations.
In a related development, occupation forces yesterday abducted an official of the Islamic Group, Atwi Atwi, from the southern town of Habbarieh.
This escalation comes days after Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s tour of southern villages, during which he stated that the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon represent a direct assault on national sovereignty.
