West Bank Faces Surge in Night Raids and Military Closure

The Israeli occupation continues to escalate its attacks across the West Bank, sustaining a military campaign marked by daily raids on cities, villages, and refugee camps. These operations involve widespread house searches, arrests of Palestinians, and the use of live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces arrested 12 Palestinians, including two women, from the Hebron governorate. The arrests followed home invasions where soldiers searched properties, ransacked belongings, and assaulted residents.

Security and local sources detailed that the occupation forces arrested Muhammad Aziz Amr and Bilal Hassan Salhoub from the town of Dura; Zayed Yousef Sweiti from Beit Awa; and Widad Makhameh, Fatima Abu Aram, and Ismail Fayeq Nassar from Yatta and its villages, after severe beatings and home vandalism.

Nasrallah sustained a critical gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Dura Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead following attempts to save his life, according to the Red Crescent.

Another young man was shot in the leg with live ammunition and was rushed to the hospital for medical assistance.

The IOF also stormed other areas of al-Khalil last night and clashed with local youths in Sa’ir town.

Further arrests in Hebron included Izz al-Din Ghaith, Naji Muhammad al-Atrash, Musab al-Junaidi, and Qasim Musa al-Deek. From Idhna, west of Hebron, forces arrested Shaher Yahya Abu Jheisha and Waddah Muhammad Rashid Abu Jheisha following raids and property damage.

In al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron, Israeli forces assaulted Dr. Malik al-Anati, his father Muhammad (58), and his son, student Wajdi, during a home raid. The soldiers ransacked the house, causing injuries that required treatment at Yatta Governmental Hospital. The forces also arrested released prisoner Ismail Nassar and raided the home of Fatah movement secretary Muhammad Abu Hashhash, vandalizing its contents.

Occupation forces additionally searched several homes in Hebron and Yatta, including that of released prisoner Hassan al-Deek. They erected multiple military checkpoints at entrances to Hebron and its surrounding communities, closing roads with iron gates, concrete blocks, and earth mounds.

Continued Siege on Hizma, Northeast of Jerusalem

For a second consecutive day, Israeli forces maintained a tight siege on the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem. Stationed at the town’s entrances, soldiers conducted extensive raids on dozens of homes, deliberately damaging property, searching mobile phones, and reportedly stealing money.

Forces intensively fired stun grenades at anyone attempting to leave while sealing all entrances. Hizma’s schools remained closed to ensure student safety. This follows the distribution of leaflets yesterday declaring the town a closed military zone.

Youth Shot and Arrested in Tulkarm

A young man was wounded and arrested by Israeli forces in Tulkarm on Wednesday after being shot with live ammunition. Local sources reported that soldiers opened fire on Khader Muhammad Shahada and his sister, Sadeel, as they left their home in Tulkarm’s northern neighborhood, wounding both in the thigh.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated its crews were prevented from reaching the injured by a large Israeli military presence. The 19-year-old woman was later transferred to Martyr Thabet Hospital, while soldiers arrested her wounded brother. The injured are children of Fatah official Muhammad Shahada. This incident occurs amid an ongoing Israeli military operation in Tulkarm and its camps, now in its 367th consecutive day.

Widespread Arrests Across the West Bank

In the village of Amatin, east of Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested ten Palestinians: Thabet Yousef Juma, Muhammad Munther, Hamza Ghanem, Musa Bari, Ezz Bari, Zaid Bari, Muhammad Hussein Bari, Hammam Ziad Sawan, Mueen Obeid, and Hudhaifa Khalil. The two-hour raid included home invasions and vandalism.

Similarly, forces arrested several Palestinians during raids on the villages of Madama and Burin, south of Nablus, after storming homes and detaining dozens for interrogation. The Education Directorate in southern Nablus consequently converted today’s school day to remote educational activities for these areas.

A large-scale arrest campaign also took place in the town of Aqaba, north of Tubas. Israeli forces raided numerous homes, arresting 17 residents before later releasing eight, according to Kamal Bani Odeh of the Palestinian Prisoners Club in Tubas.

In the Bethlehem Governorate, forces arrested three Palestinians at dawn: Ziad Khaled Moussa (34), Mahmoud Yousef Moussa (35) from Al-Khader, and Muhammad Naeem Abu Ahour from the Al-Saf Street area.
